The journey

Your route, stop by stop

Every landmark you pass on this ride, in the order you will see it.

  1. 1 Schindler's Factory (exterior)
  2. 2 Original Ghetto wall fragments
  3. 3 Ghetto Heroes Square and its 70 empty chairs
  4. 4 The Eagle Pharmacy
  5. 5 The history of the Kraków Ghetto

The ride into Podgorze feels different from the start. The cart crosses the Vistula slowly, the commentary grows quieter, and the stops become moments of stillness rather than photo calls. From your seat you watch an ordinary neighbourhood reveal its past layer by layer, and the guide gives each place the time and the silence it asks for.

Two places anchor the story. At the Eagle Pharmacy, Tadeusz Pankiewicz kept his doors open inside the ghetto and quietly helped its residents until the end. On the square outside, 70 empty chairs face in different directions, each one speaking of absence. Nearby, a surviving stretch of the ghetto wall was built in the shape of Jewish tombstones, a detail the guide lets speak for itself.

About the tour

Krakow Ghetto & WWII Electric Cart Tour

This route crosses the Vistula to Podgorze, where the Nazi occupiers created the Krakow Ghetto in March 1941. Until March 1943 more than 15,000 Jews were confined to a district that had housed around 3,000 people. In 30 minutes the tour tells that story with care, guided by a licensed local historian.

You pass surviving fragments of the ghetto wall on Lwowska and Limanowskiego streets, deliberately shaped like Jewish tombstones, and stop at Ghetto Heroes Square, where 70 empty steel chairs stand as a memorial. You see the Eagle Pharmacy of Tadeusz Pankiewicz, the only non-Jewish resident who chose to stay and help, and the exterior of Schindler's Factory, where Oskar Schindler saved more than 1,200 Jewish workers. It is a sober, moving route, and a shorter alternative to the full Memory Trail for guests who are short on time.

This route is for visitors who want to understand this chapter properly but have limited time or energy for a long walking tour. The cart carries you between memorials that lie scattered across Podgorze, keeps the group small and private, and leaves you at the end with a quiet moment to reflect rather than a hurried walk back across the bridge.

Compare

Electric cart tour vs walking tour

A Krakow electric cart tour and a walking tour cover the same historic streets, but the experience is very different. Here is how they compare so you can pick what fits your trip.

Electric cart tourWalking tour
Duration30 to 60 minutes per route4 to 6 hours to cover the same ground
Physical effortNone, you sit and enjoy the rideHigh, hours on your feet
Ground coveredOld Town, Kazimierz and Podgórze in one rideUsually one district at a time

Best forSeniors, families, short stays, hot or wet daysFit travelers with a full free day
PriceFrom 104 PLN per person, one fixed rateFree if self-guided, or a paid walking guide

If you have a full day and enjoy walking, a walking tour is rewarding. If you are short on time, travelling with children or older relatives, or the weather is against you, an electric cart tour shows you more of Kraków with none of the effort.

Memory Trail

A great experience and an amazing guide. We toured the ghetto, the Jewish quarter and Schindler's factory. The explanations were professional, and he also took us to places that ordinary tourists never reach.

Kazimierz

An amazing tour! They recommended the best route around Kazimierz and we were not disappointed. The guides speak fluent English and share details of Krakow's history that a tourist would never notice alone. We recommend them!

We had a golf cart tour with our guide Pablo. He told us a great deal and showed us everything. It was really TOP!

I really enjoyed the tour of Krakow. Everything happened completely spontaneously: Paweł picked me up right from the airport and it turned out to be a great idea. He was very attentive, explained everything clearly and in an interesting way, and showed me many beautiful places. Thanks to this trip I discovered Krakow from a completely different perspective. I highly recommend Paweł!

We were looking for something to do during a company team trip for more than a dozen people and found YourKrakow. Honestly, with that many participants I expected a bit of chaos, but the organisation was genuinely smooth. We had several carts, split into groups and explored Kraków along different routes. At the end we all met up at Wawel. A great way to see the city, especially with a bigger group. Many of us called it the best part of the whole trip.

Great experience overall. The tour was a really convenient way to see a lot of Krakow in a short amount of time without having to walk everywhere. The driver was friendly, knowledgeable, and shared interesting facts about the city along the way. The vehicle was comfortable, and the whole experience felt relaxed and well organized. I got to see places I probably would have missed on my own. Definitely worth it if you're visiting Krakow and want a good introduction to the city.

Kazimierz

I recommend this tour with all my heart! Seeing the Jewish quarter was fascinating and helped us understand the history and the special character of the place. The route was well planned and the whole ride had a lovely atmosphere. Our driver deserves a special mention: very professional, kind, polite and helpful. His knowledge and enthusiasm made the tour even more interesting. Warmly recommended, it really is worth it!

We highly recommend this electric golf cart tour of Kraków! We booked it for a hen party and it turned out to be a fantastic experience. The ride was enjoyable from start to finish and let us see some of the most beautiful landmarks in the city and learn plenty about Kraków. Everything was well organised and our driver was friendly, professional and very accommodating to our cheerful group. A great way to add something special to the evening while seeing the city in comfort.

Pawol is absolutely fantastic. Could not have booked a better tour guide. Super friendly, english brilliant. Could not recommend enough. We did 2 zones on a city tour, the Salt Mines and Pawol was our personal guide for the Memorial and Museum Auschwitz-Birkenau. Thank you for making our honeymoon so special.

Kazimierz

This was a perfect idea for an afternoon! Our guide Paweł knew a huge amount about the history and the landmarks of the Jewish quarter, and on top of that he is a friendly person who happily answers every question. We had a really lovely time. Highly recommended.

Paulina Łaciak Google review Translated from Polish

The tour was very interesting. Our guide was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and happy for us to ask questions and find out more about Krakow. And happy for us to stop and see sites along the way. Well worth the money!

Kazimierz

I recommend them with a clear conscience. The guides in Kazimierz took great care of us and showed us really nice places. We happened to get Mr Wiesio as our guide. A great guy. He showed us some fascinating, historic spots on the map of the Jewish quarter. We will definitely come back to them the next time we are in Kraków. We went as a whole family.

We had a fantastic experience with YourKrakow. Our guide, Paweł, was exceptional! Very professional, perfectly on schedule and incredibly knowledgeable throughout the tour. Paweł has a genuinely warm personality: patient, welcoming and always smiling. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a great guide!

Amazing tour with Pawel! He showed us very special places and took time to show us and let us understand about Krakow and its history. 100% recommend!

Highly recommended, and Paweł in particular: a man with a passion for history and remarkably knowledgeable. We will certainly book again as soon as we are back in Kraków!

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Do we go inside Schindler's Factory?

The tour visits the exterior and tells the story on site. The museum inside is a separate, ticketed visit, which we are happy to help you plan around the ride.

Is this tour appropriate for children?

It covers the Holocaust, a serious and moving subject. The guide can adapt the depth of the account to your group, but families with younger children may prefer the Kazimierz route.

How is this different from the Memory Trail?

This route focuses on the wartime Ghetto in Podgorze in 30 minutes. The Memory Trail is a fuller 60-minute ride: it covers the same Ghetto and adds the Catholic half of Kazimierz first, with a stop at each of its three churches.

Is the tour respectful of the history?

Yes. It is delivered quietly and factually by a licensed local guide, in keeping with the memory of the people and events it describes.

Where does the tour start?

We include hotel pickup and drop-off in the central districts, so the cart collects you and returns you to your accommodation.

How much does the Ghetto tour cost?

From 104 PLN per person, including the licensed guide, insurance and hotel pickup. Pay after the ride, no deposit needed.

Is this route appropriate for children?

The subject is the Holocaust, so we leave the choice to parents. The guide can soften the commentary or focus on the rescue stories for younger visitors.
