The ride into Podgorze feels different from the start. The cart crosses the Vistula slowly, the commentary grows quieter, and the stops become moments of stillness rather than photo calls. From your seat you watch an ordinary neighbourhood reveal its past layer by layer, and the guide gives each place the time and the silence it asks for.
Two places anchor the story. At the Eagle Pharmacy, Tadeusz Pankiewicz kept his doors open inside the ghetto and quietly helped its residents until the end. On the square outside, 70 empty chairs face in different directions, each one speaking of absence. Nearby, a surviving stretch of the ghetto wall was built in the shape of Jewish tombstones, a detail the guide lets speak for itself.

About the tour
Krakow Ghetto & WWII Electric Cart Tour
This route crosses the Vistula to Podgorze, where the Nazi occupiers created the Krakow Ghetto in March 1941. Until March 1943 more than 15,000 Jews were confined to a district that had housed around 3,000 people. In 30 minutes the tour tells that story with care, guided by a licensed local historian.
You pass surviving fragments of the ghetto wall on Lwowska and Limanowskiego streets, deliberately shaped like Jewish tombstones, and stop at Ghetto Heroes Square, where 70 empty steel chairs stand as a memorial. You see the Eagle Pharmacy of Tadeusz Pankiewicz, the only non-Jewish resident who chose to stay and help, and the exterior of Schindler's Factory, where Oskar Schindler saved more than 1,200 Jewish workers. It is a sober, moving route, and a shorter alternative to the full Memory Trail for guests who are short on time.
This route is for visitors who want to understand this chapter properly but have limited time or energy for a long walking tour. The cart carries you between memorials that lie scattered across Podgorze, keeps the group small and private, and leaves you at the end with a quiet moment to reflect rather than a hurried walk back across the bridge.

We were looking for something to do during a company team trip for more than a dozen people and found YourKrakow. Honestly, with that many participants I expected a bit of chaos, but the organisation was genuinely smooth. We had several carts, split into groups and explored Kraków along different routes. At the end we all met up at Wawel. A great way to see the city, especially with a bigger group. Many of us called it the best part of the whole trip.

It covers the Holocaust, a serious and moving subject. The guide can adapt the depth of the account to your group, but families with younger children may prefer the Kazimierz route.
How is this different from the Memory Trail?
This route focuses on the wartime Ghetto in Podgorze in 30 minutes. The Memory Trail is a fuller 60-minute ride: it covers the same Ghetto and adds the Catholic half of Kazimierz first, with a stop at each of its three churches.
